Q Instructions for the assignment: 1. You will attend a public meeting (virtually or face-to-face) and report findings to the class. The meeting may be local, regional, state-wide, national, or international in scope. The meeting could range from a school board meeting where government policy is discussed, to a town meeting conducted by elected officials, or any such events. If you have questions, you may discuss them with the instructor. You must do individual work on this and not merely designate a ‘visitor’ and present reports based on the ‘visitor’s’ input to a team or group. Such an approach will be very transparent to the instructor and will be graded accordingly. Required Format: Student Name (5 pts.) Title of the Meeting (5 pts.) Location, time and date (10 pts.) Purpose of the Meeting (15 pts.) Approximate number of citizens attending (5 pts.) Discussion: What did the student learn from the experience? (30 pts.) Attach a copy of the agenda. This can be scanned and attached to your submission or you may provide a link to the agenda online. (30 pts.) The report itself should be computer typed and single spaced throughout. It should be approximately 1-2 pages in length (plus the agenda). Concentrate on quality of presentation rather than quantity of pages.
